This was held in May 2013
The TWO FLY Fly Fishing Tournament was created to promote corporate philanthropy for Wyoming charities. Former Governor, Dave Freudenthal, made it a priority to encourage companies making money in Wyoming to spend a larger portion of their charitable budget to benefit Wyoming causes. The TWO FLY is not a professional contest; while competition is a part of the event, the objectives are to enjoy a truly remarkable fishery, interact informally with peers in the oil and gas industry, and raise money for deserving Wyoming charities.
CASA of Natrona County was chosen as the 2013 Two Fly Recipient. For two days, CASA staff and volunteers shuttled to and from the river, over 50 fly fishermen. We were able to share our stories about the abused and neglected children we have in care and share with them what our advocates are doing to ensure those children have a voice. These gentlemen, and a couple ladies, listened attentively and asked questions about how the program works and how fortunate these kids are to have a compassionate dedicated person in their lives.
In the two days these gentlemen and ladies fished and donated money, there were 10 new children who were appointed to CASA of Natrona County, who had been abused and/or neglected by their caregiver.
The hearts, eyes and generosity of these fishermen, and women, and philanthropists were opened up and shared during those few days. They heard our stories and understood our cause. They opened not only their hearts, but their checkbooks and showed us how generous and giving they are. They are also advocates to these children and are certainly making a difference in the lives of these children in our community!
Thank you for your time, your dedication and your compassion!
